I've never read more evocative lines, and I'm pleased with the fidelity I brought to the condensing, dripping moon vapor of Poe's imagination. These illustrations typically run to 25 Photoshop layers and I try to label them conscientiously. I remember someone saying that lots of layers was indicative of laziness somehow; I'd argue against that, but it would take too much effort.
The reference to Caspar David Friedrich should be obvious, and that impossible moon...
