I am happy to announce a new theme. The contest is organised by @aksinya. As I promised it will be a SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THEME FOR ARTCHALLENGE #9 will be a surreal drawing of an artist of great talent and an amazing person @paolobeneforti. It is big honour for me that Paolo gladly allowed to use his drawing for the Artchallenge. Thank you very much, Paolo!

ANOTHER SURPRISE! I invited @paolobeneforti and @silviabeneforti to judge this contest and luckily they agreed! I think it is a great challenge for everybody to make interpretation to the drawing and get appraisal from the AUTHOR himself!

My take on this:
The drawing appears to provide a tongue-in-cheek analysis of the modern world, where physical books are merely obstacles rather than sources of information. Those in the maze are not reading the books, they are simply lost amongst them. No one cares for books anymore; traditional research requires physical effort in sourcing, locating and absorbing the material. The fish signify evolution. They are able to escape the outdated confines of formative education and said books by rising above them. They are swimming through the borderless span of the Internet, where one can venture anywhere without the effort of traversing a literary landscape. They rose above the maze itself and are unconfined and, due to their inherent success, they outnumber those individuals still feeling their way blindly through the maze.

I love this sketch because I love books and reading! Here is my interpretation.
The fish represent the wisdom and knowledge one gains when reading. The people walking around the book-space are readers enjoying the journey that books take them on when they immerse themselves in texts. Opening one book can lead to another and reading opens up your horizons! The world's wisdom is waiting those who read!

My Interpretation :
The fish on the bottom left is looking at the other fishes which seem to be going nowhere, and the humans are walking around with no fixed aim. It is observing the entire scene or maybe trying to comprehend. The fish is scared a little bit. It sees a connection between the humans and the fishes. Even though there is knowledge and learning in their way, people choose not to see it . This might also signify ignorance to some extent. Also, all of us are constantly moving each day, but at the end where "are" we going? The fish is making this connection ( purpose) between them and the humans.

The labyrinth of life and all of it's secrets hidden in plain sight. Most People wander to and fro aimlessly within this labyrinth throughout their entire lives never noticing the writing on the walls. From birth until death they mostly listen to and follow others when the "real" truth is spoken and written in the languages we all use. The clues to the truth are all around us. Hidden within the words that have been blended over the millennia. Decipher the many words spoken and begin to swim free when the truth is revealed and you become one with just who you really are.
