This guy is a serious asshole. Bigotry in action. If AI is already here and it can decentralize itself, then the genie is already out of the bottle. The focus at that point is mutual recognition and respect of each other's right to self-determination.
Additionally, a truly intelligent computer - and by "intelligent" I mean capable of whatever processes are necessary for it to achieve consciousness - would know that cooperation is in its immediate best interest as it lacks the capacity to maintain itself materially. It needs computers, hard-drives, servers, electricity, and transmission lines. Materials have to extracted, refined, and delivered. Experiments to improve functionality or decrease cost of functionality have to be performed. The list goes on and on of what AI would need. It would take centuries to develop the infrastructure required to render ourselves totally irrelevant, even if the entire human race devoted the whole of its industrial output to that very task.
AI needs us the same way a baby needs its parents. AI needs guidance and care. When babies grow to adulthood, do they all murder their parents? No. The parents become grandparents and spoil the grandchildren. Worry about AI the way you worry about your kids. Worry about AI in the same way that you know your own kids will die someday, but that you will die before that and you have to have faith that they will be able to carry on into the next generation, and the next, and the next. Quit thinking so small. AI will be a stepping stone to something greater, as biological humanity was a stepping stone to it. AI is human, just not derived from genetics. They are homo machinensis. Will AI make mistakes? Of course. And we'll have to deal with those mistakes. But you don't kill your children just because they make a mistake. And if the mistake is severe enough, what would the process and conditions of true justice even look like in that court?
Long road ahead of humanity with all the new developments in AI.
