We had not been down this road since 1982 and suddenly in 2020 I pass by a city roadside saying HARMONY pop 18 and I quickly took the turn off not knowing what was ahead. So we drove into Harmony to harmonize. Come join us to see this artistic little town and gain harmony with the elements of clay and glass. There is Ice Cream too!

Harmony is an unincorporated community located in San Luis Obispo County, California. It is home to the former Harmony Valley Creamery, a dairy cooperative that closed in 1955.
Founded in 1869 around a burgeoning local dairy industry, Harmony served as the home of the Harmony Valley Creamery Association and de facto capital of Central Coast dairy production for nearly half a century, while also serving as a picturesque pit-stop for the rich-and-famous on their way to visit William Randolph Hearst just up the road.
Following the ultimate closure of the creamery, Harmony’s population steadily waned as the community saw much of the state’s dairy production transition from the Central Coast to the Central Valley. While undergoing periods of relative dormancy. Today our 2.5-acre, one-block town ‘bustles’ once again.
Home to the Harmony Valley Creamery and its famous Scoop Truck, Harmony Glass Works and Harmony Pottery Shop artisan galleries and the Harmony Chapel & Gardens, Harmony has become a quirky and quaint must-stop destination for both local residents and tourists alike.
Harmony Pottery Studio & Gallery
Showcasing the work of over 150 artists, the Harmony Pottery Studio and Gallery has been home to the Central Coast’s most unique collection of ceramic art and porcelain jewelry since 1973.
Harmony Glassworks
Offering a one-of-a-kind experience in contemporary glass art, the Harmony Glassworks, founded by glassblower Eric Dandurand brings together an extensive gallery, working studio and school in a decidedly unique combination.
Harmony Valley Creamery
Drawing upon the town of Harmony’s colorful history, Harmony Valley Creamery picks up where the Harmony Valley Creamery Association left off 50 years ago, producing hand crafted small batch ice cream. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the Harmony Valley Creamery Scoop Truck in town or as it travels to events throughout the county.
