I gave 250 STEEM to @alexandravart yesterday.
Why?
It's simple: I understand what it's like to be a starving artist.
Also, @papa-pepper has something to do with this because he said "If we can give when the opportunity presents itself, then that's what we should do."
A deep dive into researching her work, and then I realized that sometimes, a famous artists, a real talent can sit directly under our noses and no one even realizes this. I believe Alexandra is precisely that, an undiscovered famous artist.
I'm very particular about what I like. This is what I refer to as the "artist's curse." Having very particular artistic tastes actually does make life more difficult. I am not impressed by 99% of the drivel I come across (both art and writing). So, for me to get that weird, other-worldly sensation from an artist is a rare thing. And after viewing Alexandra's video, which shows the scale of her work (the paintings are enormous), I got that weird feeling in my gut......her art is a mix of pure energy mixed with a sort of tragic feeling. Pain mixed with energy. It's hard to capture this...
Here are some of her works which greatly inspire me:
All art by @alexandravart
She is the real deal. I'm going to start collecting her paintings because a rare talent like her doesn't come along very often in life. I gave her STEEM because I know that the business side of being of an artist is the worst thing ever. Come to think of it, I know this so well, I feel sorry for anyone like myself, who is unable to focus much or any attention on "business matters" due to the overwhelmingly strong imagination, that really does take over one's life, and make things impossible to handle. In some ways, I think that great artists are lost in their own minds.......but it is my belief that visionaries should be the ones directing the flow of human society.....
The truth of all of this is that I was forced to write..........being jobless in 2013, i was desperate to find any kind of work. I applied to over 300 jobs, and the only one that hired me (as a volunteer writer) was startup company who needed writers. Before then, I always thought of myself as a visual artist....having the "creative gene" take over my life to such a degree that I could barely manage to stay at any job for very long without going mad. Repetitive task are my nightmare, and most jobs are full of repeitition. Daydreaming was my only escape, and I did this activity to the fullest. At the very end of my working career, I searched out jobs that would allow my mind to be free: security guard, driver, etc. It was the only way for me to be free.....
Merry Christmas to all (I have no idea why I celebrate Christmas as an atheist, but doing this holiday as a custom for my entire life.....)
Here's to 2018 and another year doing the Planet Steem thing,
Stella
(let's all encourage Alexandra to upload to DTube so we can see her painting in action)
Tanks again , this means the world to me it boosts my confidence and it transforms me into a superhuman, I have a lot to learn from you and I will not stop until I will be able to give back and help others too
And thank you for your YouTube channel I am currently in your school:)) and for mentioning Aantonop in an interview, I am in his school too since last night :))
You have such an amazing talent! I wish I had an artistic bone in my body! but alas, my skills are in words, not images. I love your work! Hopefully Stella's support will encourage other Steemians to follow you and give you a level of success with Steem you have not yet encountered!
Words are art , thank you so much
@alexandravart Throwing in my upvote on there as well. Thanks to @stellabelle for mentioning you.
Honestly, the reason why I'm excited about her mentioning you, is that we're actually fellow romanians, living in the same city. It's been a crazy day, I actually came across a few of us today alone :)
I would love to interact with you guys, who knows, maybe someday we'll do a Bucharest Steemit meetup, haha.
Until then, you've got me as a follower, and I'll do my best to support your art, your talent and your content! Keep it up!
Aaa that would be so cool 😎 I am driving to Bucharest right now from Rm Vl ( hometown)hope to see you soon
I honestly hope that someone else is driving you ... otherwise how great of a driver are you to also be writing on Steemit at the same time?!?
Also, followed you on Twitter, feel free to DM me if you wanna talk I guess.
I am not driving but I am getting dizzy:)))
well deserved :)
xoxoxo
Amazing art! Your talent is undisputed. Really blown away. I'm now a big fan of yours.
I really appreciate it , hope you stop by on my blog too
Ofcourse, gladly. Following you already.
Well deserved 🙏🙏Your artworks are flawless.
Plus I just followed your blog now. Steem on der
❤️🙏
I'm just seeing her works for the first time, but i think she deserve the donation and even more.
Her works are great, let's support her, I look forward to seeing a video from her.
You will see more videos, I will repost some , not so good at editing them but I know you guys can help me get better 😘
Yeah
I'm looking forward to them
@stellabelle - I am impressed by the work of this artist. Your description of 'pain mixed with energy' is bang on target. Her pictures seem to somehow convey helplessness and dynamism simultaneously. Even her abstract art seems to be alive and flowing. Kudos on what you have done to help her!!
It is this spirit of Steemians, like you, that makes Steemit the greatest social media platform in the world in my view.
I am no connoisseur of art and am more in to wildlife awareness, as you are aware. However, now I have started supporting the conservation efforts by providing support to nature groups for buying equipment like camera traps and better camera lenses etc. with my post earnings. I hope I get support of steemians but I will keep on my effort. Anyway - just saying that you inspire me to do more!!
Upvoted full.
Regards,
@vm2904
glad to hear that! It's just important for me to be honest when I give, not to boast, but just to feel like I can share. I was originally going to just hide all of this....
I am glad that you decided to share the news. Gives a lot of inspiration for lesser Steemians like me who are trying to do something for a cause. It is not easy surviving on Steemit and supporting a cause through earnings. You show us that everything is possible. Thanks again
I'm almost completely new to steemit so please excuse me if i'm violating any protocol/politeness rule by adding this comment but I'm ABSOLUTELY moved by this post, not only because the art is so beautiful and inspiring, but because @stellabelle you seem to be someone with a really big heart. I know because I'm from Venezuela and ultimately I was drawn to steemit because of your post on 'A Practical Guide To Make $5 Per Day on Steemit'. I'm just starting and I'm sure it will be a long time before I can even make 1$ but I just had to say I'm amazed on how caring and sensitive to other's needs can a person be. In a hard situation, only knowing that 'good people' exist everywhere is a motive to keep going.
Anyway, just wanted to say, again, that all this is really moving and I hope this caring and sharing spirit reaches everyone's heart, even mine!
@alexandravart your work is amazing! Not only the result but the process. It's mesmerizing.
Cheers for a warm-hearted and artistic 2018!
While some are fighting over rewards and flags others are looking to lift some people up! Nice Stella.
I did the flag war thing, and it forced me to look deeper. I always wanted to be that person who could afford to have great paintings to cover my befouled walls. I can't wait to buy that first painting.....as it kind of haunts me.....it will be a great day when it is near!
Exactly...! God bless you @stellabelle
Feel like we just saw a crypto targetted at artistic/creator-world the other day, and now can't remember what it was. Anyone see any cryptos/tokens related to aiding creative expression, they can share?
You did a wonderful thing @stellabelle. So happy to see you and other influencers do such amazing work on Steemit- promoting newbies and minnows and helping them gain more recognition. I have been working hard nonstop since the past 5 years and gosh, it has been quite stressful for me. Luckily for me, I found a career pathway that I enjoy but times were quite difficult for me and still can be at times. There have been times and still are times when I feel like giving up, but somehow I just keep going on. Gladly, I have Steemit by my side now that I can use to share my feelings with others because I cannot talk about what I go through or the pressures I have with family. Your post made me feel good in many ways. Thanks for that.
You have such a Good Heart! thank you!
Thank you, Stella for showing this incredibly talented painter.
❤️
it's great help you have done if each of every member open there heart to growp ip the members then that will be the greatest work done one the steemit ...
Wow! I adore her style. The very detailed pieces are my favorite I think- the way she brings order to the chaos appeals to me.
Nice work @stellabelle, keep the good work of help people that have what it takes but are ignored. You are right this is the real deal and you have just made me a fan of this artist.
I like this post..I have resteem..thanks for sharing@stellabelle.
Happy christmas, all your days are always fun,
merry christmas
Those are some Awesome paintings . She’s truly talented !
She is a wonderful artist and deserve to be appreciated. Awesome stuff
This is really nice.
They say a success is born when opportunity meets preparation...and she was sure ready for this .
Thank you for recognizing art and being selfless.
Congrats to her and MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Well, i don't know if it's being selfless or not! I want to buy her paintings, so maybe, just maybe that's part of the reason I gave her STEEM.
That amount is bigger than all the prices I put on my paintings , and what you are doing for me in matters of visibility is priceless so you can pick any of my art and I will make some just for you without anyprice even if you don't want it :))
see what i mean ? lol @stellabelle
@alexandravart funny you.
My type pf prepartation was like a dyacnostic I could not stop doing art even when I tried , and l continued preparing without much hope for opportunity
Wow. This is amazing art. I agree, that "starving" artist have big problems whit business side, since it is all about marketing. What you did whit donation is beyond respect ! There is no better community than on Steemit. Merry Christmas everyone.
Thank you , steemit is the best place, where real connections and friendships are created, we have to make this place better and better for us, and that's what Stella is doing 🙂
Give me too.... 😁😉
I can’t get the link to alexandravart to open
You can connect with me here , i am not checking other platforms lately:)
Alrighty then. You do have some amazing talent and obviously are putting yourself into what seems like all your work. I'm not a huge fan of photos for some reason, nor even art all the time in general, but sometimes it's easy to like.
I am mostly about art :P but I would love to interact over many other subjects
She deserves every steem you donated and more. Such a bundle of talent. She may be the next Picasso 50 or some odd years from now. Wow. Thanks for doing this!
Thank you , everyone's wards of encouragement mean a lot for me ❤️
This is exactly what I was talking about when I wrote:
Why Steemit Can't Seem to Attract REAL Artists, Writers and Bloggers
Good job @stellabelle. Nice find. Her work is incredible and I look forward to passing a few votes her way when I can.
Steemit attached lot of talented people I interacted with many inspirational people here 🙂
They seem to be around every corner. There's talent everywhere. Impossible to miss. Good luck to you. I look forward to seeing what comes next from you.
😀
nice
its so cool that you (@stellabelle) have seen the stress we the artist (of any kind) go through and we end up with no appreciation.
meanwhile alexandra is a very talented painter
well done
Whoa! Totally understandable and beautiful gesture. Merry Christmas even though you atheist you can still eat hollydays food haha
Literally I lost myself in her artwork , now this is what you call true talent !!
Also good people like you still exist which I am happy to know
Happy to hear that , hope we will be friends 🤗
We are only able to give and truly understand when we experience what others actually went through or presently going through, truly your help wont go unnoticed thanks for the above
I gave up on the business side and my work remained known among friends and family, but with steemit my group of friends can really grow 🙂
It only get better from now on
That's so nice of you ma. Steemit is an opportunity for everyone to showcase our hidden potentials what the world may not give us the to showcase. Congratulations @alexandravart, a golden fish can never be hidden.
❤️🤗
thanks for showing me that account she is a gift from god
🤗😅😘
it is true?
Art is something that should receive much more attention on Steem. Next platform should be like Deviantart but with Steem. or deviantart integrates a SMT.
I'm in love with her work, that slothicorn she made is the best!
Slothicorn magic:)
This is a very strong pattern. They have some kind of magnetism. It is impossible to look away. You were very generous, making such a gift. It is so important to feel supported in the beginning. Many creative people quit their craft because it does not give profit. And they need to eat each day. And they throw their dream. Go to a regular job. Many talents died in the drawers. Therefore, your gift for This girl - it's a chance for her to meet his dream.
My dream is here, because I finally can be sure that the quality of my work has nothing to do with my inability to make a decent living from it. Thank you
You are very talented. I wish you great success!
See you here 🤗
Amazing post. Thank you for supporting art that you love! I feel like it is easy to devalue art and treat it like a luxury rather than a real human need but creating and viewing art is great for our serotonin levels and can empower people! You rock.
❤️😘
Not too much.very nice art
Another great example of the gift economy. She is a great artist and you are an inspiring Steemian.
😘
Work is lit. Is s(he) selling original work yet? I'm a buyer. Let me know. Thx.
hi , yes I am selling originals :)
I am giving free use for every one in digital format with Creative Commons license, so you can print them, gift them even for commercial use, and I sell only the originals which are not very expensive:) also take commissions
It is great to see this. Time and Time again I see people extending their hands, helping others.
On the other hand, alex really does deserve it... the work is simply impressive and should be enjoyed and rewarded. Too bad it is @stellabelle that has to reward it instead of those who reward extremelly inferior work.
Nice job. Upvoted.
Cheers
Hopefully Stella knows that she is helping a friend, and good always come back to her
Amazing i love it
❤️
What a beautiful gesture, alexandravart is definitely one to watch, i featured her in one of my earlier weekly curations and i think her work merits lots more followers <3
Thanks @juliakponsford , I love your contest and your curation project should become steemit virtual art gallery, you have a great eye for art and I met some of the greatest artists in your contest
I've been a bit shy and my usual introverted self around you but I hope we will interact more
Indeed, she is the real deal. Awesome work of art. She deserves your donation and more. Nice one
Thank you 😊
Great - a new artist to follow! You're right about her work. It's got an energy and a vision that's unique and compelling. And thanks to your donation I hope we'll see lots more from her.
Thanks and hope to see you around 🤗
You rock @stellabelle, this is WHY Steem is a gifteconomy. This is WHY steem can change the world....
I would like to have more people like you here... they are so many treasure people in the plateform. People who are real artists. Not people who go on Internet and copy-paste from wikipedia and then get rewarded........ THANK you Stellan Thank you to be a such amazing woman............ Woman.... yes... Maybe as woman we have more heart, we trust more in the friendship/talents/ sharing values.... Not only money money money.
Thank you , this is true value indeed 🙂
Wow! This is really amazing
❤️
Starving or not; you have a big heart Stella. You are an encourager and a helper.
Thanks for helping Alexandra get out of her struggles.
She is a real deal as yoou mentioned.
I've followed her to see more of her good works
Not starving but not making a living from my work either yet, hopefully this is changing because it boots my confidence a lot , thank you 😊
This post really boost my moral and self-esteem ,to be a better person.Thank you for sharing this with us is encouraging and you are inspiring.
Unfortunately our moral and self esteem is linked to our success and we make the best work in putting ourselves down more than anyone else could but fortunately here we can encourage good work and grate efforts by just expressing our genuine opinion
What a fantastic thing to do @stellabelle may it come back to you a thousand fold.
Hopefully the gift economy tag will grow in popularity and more people are helped and encouraged , thank you all for all your kind words, I don't even know how to react to all of this, I am overwhelmed with joy and would like to be able to express how much this means to me, words don't come easily to me, but I will put all this beautiful feelings in my art and give it all to you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😊😊😊🤗🤗🤗😘😘😘😘
What stunning artwork! Truly impressive artist! Thank you for supporting artists and for sharing their work with the broader steemit community! :)
Thank you ❤️
