As a newbie in art, I’m trying to learn from many talented artists and practise more art styles and techniques. This time I tried to paint a landscape in the impressionist style by a palette knife with oil color.
I love Nature with all its elements: mountains, rivers, cloud, flowers, birds … I always feel at ease and happy while surrounded by nature. We have a deep connection, like best friends or even like soulmates. That’s why I called this painting, Forever Nature.
Forever Nature
Oil on canvas
40 x 32 cm / 15.75 x 12.6 in
With the palette knife, it was easy to make the impasto effect in the painting.
Impasto is a technique used in painting, where paint is laid on an area of the surface in very thick layers, usually thick enough that the brush or painting-knife strokes are visible. Paint can also be mixed right on the canvas. When dry, impasto provides texture; the paint appears to be coming out of the canvas - Wikipedia
(This is a picture of the unfinished landscape during the painting process.)
