Artivism: a word combining "art" and "activism" applicable to artwork created with a message developed to raise awareness for a social and/or political issue(s) by the means of exhibiting particular attributes which focus on raising social awareness to encourage discourse and motivate positive change of perception of the viewer as a result of the artistic experience.
