🎨 Flying Object - original painting

in #artzone6 years ago

Years ago I was with two friends hiking in the Totes Gebirge (Death Mountains) plateau in Austria. The weather was shitty so instead of keeping walking higher up we started to balance stones. I took many photos from our creations and one of them ended up as my reference for this painting.

Flying Object, 1998

Acrylic on fiberboard
30 x 40 cm / 11.81 x 15.75 in

Here are some shots from our stone balancing performance:

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe where you are sitting at the edge of the great crevasse, it gave my stomach a flip just looking at it. You obviously have no fear of heights.

I love the inspiration and of course the resulting piece is amazing.

Wow. Nice

this is awesome - I didn't know that your balancing act dates that far back! I only remember the ones you did at the Schwarza river.
I suppose you are aware of the Inuksuk of the Inuit in Canada, Alaska and Greenland.
