Hey Guys
How is everyone doing, Hope you all are having a relaxing weekend. For me, my weekends are spent preparing modules for my classes, sketching some, and sleeping most of the time. Much Needed!
The Wall and the Starks
Today I am sharing my latest work that I started some 2 weeks back, it's not complete, some detailing are still left, But I couldn't wait to share it with you guys...
Usually, when I share my work, I just show the process and explain a bit about it, but today I will talk about my inspiration behind this...
2 months back I started doing artworks inspired by Game of Thrones series, they aren't direct interpretation but my take on the topic, For me, it's very dark, mysterious and of course there is this battle for the throne which is the highlight. I love how the concept is based on 'an eye for an eye' and how the characters unfold and change over time... the fantasy, the politics, going to any lengths for the power, and the uncertainty - what's going to happen next has made this series addictive. From direwolves to dragons to white walkers, everything makes it huge and mystical.
I have planned to create a full collection inspired by the series, and I am still going slowly in creating my work, there are times when I sketch and do not like how it turns out and I will start all over again.
A few days back I posted two artworks - one was my interpretation of Walk of shame from the season, and the first one was more general.
This sketch is more focused on the King beyond the wall, Winterfell- and the area marked by the wall between the two.
I am fascinated by the character- three-eyed raven and Winterfell sigil which could be seen in most of my designs, I know I have done no justice with the series, but I wouldn't want my work to be direct but more abstract in nature.
So here is the process... If you have read my previous blogs, you would know I design the artwork during the process, I don't think much before stating it, but this was though well in advance and I am quite satisfied with the outcome.
Hope you liked it.
