Enjoying Food

in #asean3 years ago

Whether we enjoy food or not, we do need food for our survival. In the past, the good kings would ensure their citizens have sufficient food.

Today, food is still the basic need for the general public. Those who are in poverty or going through famine would be desperately looking for food.

As many are having higher standard of living, nowadays food supply is no longer the main concern of the people. They do not concern whether there is food to eat, but rather the food is healthy and delicious. Certainly it is a blessing to be able to enjoy healthy and delicious food today. How should we enjoy food?

First, if we have the opportunity to get healthy and delicious food, we should enjoy it. Whenever we eat, hopefully it is a happy and relaxed time. Such a way of eating does help us to relax even though our daily schedule can be tight and hectic.

Secondly, we should attempt to eat as a family regularly. Family meal time shouldn't be a time for the parents to teach the younger generations. Also, it should not be a time that those who are eating together still individually play with their hand phones. Instead, it’s the moment of reunion and joy, a time to chit chat with one another. In fact, many families like to eat together during the festivals or special occasions such as birthday celebration. As a family, we don't just interact with one another happily during festivals or special occasions. We should deliberately make every meal a time for family members to communicate freely and happily.

Thirdly, we can enhance friendship and learn from each other by eating with friends. For more than a year, we have not invited friends to our home due to the pandemic, the COVID19. As the situation has turned better that those who have vaccinated could come together, we have started to invite friends to our home. And within this week, we have invited friends twice to have breakfast at our home. What an enriching time that we could interact freely and happily. Although there is no planned agenda, we do learn from one another beginning with a meal together.
