The Responsibility Behind the Smiles

in #aseanhivelast year (edited)

Hello, fellow hivers, friends, and visitors! In this blog, I'll be showing you that being a human being, no matter how good our intentions are for our work-related responsibilities and accountabilities, they affect us in some ways. So, please fasten your seatbelts and I'll start to drive you our tourist vehicle to the place of responsibility, known as the school.

The Main Job

As a school head, I know that I can't pull out the teachers from their classrooms during their working hours because they are focused on the teaching-learning tasks and maintaining the safety and well-being of the learners, and of course, for the best outcome possible. They are focused on how to deliver the scheduled daily or weekly competencies for each quarter and at the same time, give remediations to slow learners as a result of the Pandemic these past years.

The teachers need to adjust to the competencies in the previous grade level in order for the learners to cope with the current ones. The learner's capacity to learn differs, so varied activities in the remediation are given. Those who have difficulties in reading are focused on reading. While those are very slow with numbers, they deal with numeracy. That is called equity.

Sending an Errand for the School

Now, since all of my teachers have learners and competencies to attend to daily, I have no choice but to send myself an errand for what needs to be done. The photos below will give you an idea of what these tasks are.

To the hauling of armchairs donated by the other government agencies.

These are just examples of the things that give me reasons to be happy because they are intended for the school.

However, while these are important for the school sometimes purchasing or hauling them entails another responsibility. In fact, my main job is to provide the teachers with the Technical Assistance needed in the delivery of their lessons; supervise them, and conduct meetings with them, the parents, and other stakeholders as needed and as frequently as possible. Much more when office evaluation comes and is inevitable!

Sometimes, due to the urgency of reports to be submitted simultaneously, I feel that dark clouds cover the sky that blurs my way, like this one.

Aside from being gloomy, they seem to be chasing one another to grab something. And most of all what makes my day gloomy is when I've spent much on gas for the aforementioned activities.

Representation, Travel Allowance Imaginary

In fact, School heads don't have Representation Allowance and Travel Allowance (RATA). They have to spend on personal finances. Other school heads like me can attest to this.

If I have to submit for possible reimbursement of travel and hauling expenses, the required documents would also consume much of my time. Also, the amount intended for the school's monthly expenses may no longer be adequate. On the other hand, it should be a government vehicle that you have to use, if you claim gas reimbursement. But mine is personal. The reason is very obvious. Thus, the easiest and fastest way is to use my own meager finances. But, still, I am able to smile and enjoy what I'm doing. Thanks to my buddy, my utility vehicle, has helped me a lot in my job and school. Inexpensive as it looks like but it has done a lot for me in my job and for my small farm needs.

Whenever it is quite tiresome and stressful due to things done simultaneously in one setting, I just look to the calm sea -usually in the photos that I have sometimes- to let my stressful self calm down like them.

Back to the office, I regained the smile, and it became authentic now after a while. It's because I've realized, that no matter how busy I am, it's the children in school and my diligent teachers who give me the reasons for me to smile despite my huge responsibility.

The smiles of school children and their parents in this memorable event gave me some inspiration and the desire to do more for them.

That's all for today my dear co-hivers, friends, and visitors. I hope you've learned something in my post. Thank you and see you again in my next blog and your blogs.

Big responsibility it is it shows how responsible you are taking all of these huhu anyway thank you so much for taking care for them 💛💛

It's hard but if we are willing, there's always a way. Maybe it's new to you, the phrase: "sending myself an errand"... 😆 sounds funny but if there's no choice, then, I go for it to get the desired outcome. Thank you @graxaa...

I appreciate that you are very particular about pulling out of teachers in the classroom. There were school heads whom they just in trust all activity to them.

Yes mam @dehai. Every school head has his/her own style and that is their discretion. I highly respect them. They have their own priorities. By the way, I'm not saying that my style is better than theirs. I don't even compare myself with others. I compare my own performance to the time I have started and with the current. Then, this current performance will be compared to my own accomplishments in the future. Thank you for the inputs mam.

Whoa, what a big responsibilities po. Taking care of all these was surely tiring. But at the end of the day, if it's for the student and the school, then it doesn't matter. It will still give a smile to you coz you know you did well on this job. For sure lot's of people too was very appreciative to you po (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)

Yes mam @ruffatotmeee. I'm quite flattered when they say they appreciated it. I'm doing this because I care for them, and maybe sooner or later, I'll no longer be here.

I think you are one of the best leaders (school heads) sir. You are thinking of the welfare of the teachers and pupils. God bless.

Thank you @missleray for the compliment. But, I think there are hundreds or even thousands who are doing well in their job as school heads. Though I'm not perfect but I'm doing the best that I can for the welfare of the school little by little with the meager budget. Thank you.
