That's a really good point and something I've noticed as well, I'm guessing it does take those special kind of users to not just stumble on Steem and give it a try, but to also stick with it a bit longer and really understand it.
Obviously you also have some that are way under the average and here for the wrong reasons, but that's decentralization. :)
Yeah, the high average IQ of Steemians is clearly a result of the complexity and novelty of the platform. Hardly anybody knows about Steem, so you have to be much more of a curious novelty seeker and not shy away from complexity to get round to creating a Steem account in the first place. Both traits are correlate with intelligence. If you're too much below average, you won't be able to wrap your head around all the keys and the tokens and all that. Be be successful to any degree takes both the ability to see potential in things like Steem in general and also some persistence.
