bad discharge = no pension ,health care, cv, bad rep etc ? (I ask I don't know the details) but I guess you lost less in benefits than paetrus did?
maybe you can say what it was about? I understand that with the fog of war and the change in mindset it could be innapropriate to do so, however the laws of war, not of men doing or wishing will always remains...
maybe this all events saved your life (be it from death at the time or save your life in the sense that you didn't have to live with what you said no to :)).
