Hola. Great read. I think certification would be awesome, but then again, the knowledge is at our fingertips and much like mainstream education, can be done at one’s own direction with little to no cost. What can I say? I’m cheap. Hence, my ongoing education is now free audits of classes on Coursera. Lol. If the time is spent, I’m okay with a lack of certification. To be honest the whole “specialist” thing in our academic and scientific community is often exploited to keep people in the dark and out of their power. A piece of paper is often just that. The knowledge itself is really all that matters. Discretion on the part of the consumer is paramount in obtaining correct knowledge. Fools will be fools and charlatans will exploit them, gatekeepers or no gatekeepers. You rock Beth.
