If you read my first post where I introduced myself. you would of read that I am at the moment on welfare (the dole). I don't like being on the welfare. you hear people saying that welfare doesn't give you enough to live on. yes it doesn't, if gives you enough to survive on. If you are renting, you can apply for rental assistance, But I'm getting off topic of what I was posting about.

I'm posting this because of this nine news article

Back in the late 90's and early 2000's, if you were unemployed you would have to put in the leg work. look though newspapers or on the internet. And then call up the company/business and chat to the receptionist to see if the job position was still vacant, and mail off your resume or actually drive to the company and drop the resume off.

These days things have changed. Before I had to go on the welfare, I actually looked on the internet for job positions and actually drove to the company/business to drop my resume off. And one after the other, each receptionist said. "we don't except resumes in person, you'll have to apply online". I thought are you f%$king kidding me. Here I am dropping off a resume to show that I actually want to work and your telling me to go online and apply.

So since then, I have been applying online. So today, the number of job positions that I have applied for is now at 300. And out of those 300, I have had 1 interview, 5 emails saying that I'm on the short list and 2 emails saying I was unsuccessful.

Some friends have told me that a few of their other friends have been unable to get a job for the past 18 months. He and I were talking, that if there is so many job vacancies being put on seek.com.au. why can't I get a normal dead end factory job. We come up with the conclusion. The unemployed need to apply for work to get welfare, so large companies get tax breaks for advertising positions that aren't available. Its a theory but, advertising can be written off on tax. I say this because I have applied for the same position at the same company 4 times in the past 2 months. I even drove there and gave them a resume, even though they wouldn't take it. I said "I would leave it there if there was a actual position open.".

The only benefit is (even though some aussies won't like this) that I have more time looking for and creating new content on here, so maybe one day. I'll be able to power down some time, and tell centerlink to remove me from the unemployed list.

The whole job agency program is one big scam...

Mate this is exactly my experience. Im currently studying, which at my age is code for "I cant find a job". I also think that most of those online positions are just agencies fishing for people to put on their books.
