Silent No More

By and large, today's Australia leaves a lot to be desired in regard to respecting individual freedom. The one-party-masquerading-as-a-two-party political system has a huge majority of the population transfixed. The trend toward regulation of absolutely everything and everyone continues with little to no resistance.

'Regulation' being the polite word for totalitarian control. The 1980s marked the last time I can recall any meaningful resistance to this agenda in this country. People actually said 'No' to the proposed 'Australia Card' - a national identity card scheme. But then got duped with the expansion of the tax file number and medicare systems which achieved much of that goal. In the 1990s, the Australian population was disarmed. The 2001 World Trade Center attacks provided a vast on-going excuse for the realisation of all manner of authoritarian wet dreams in this and most other countries. More recently, so-called 'VLAD' (vicious lawless association disestablishment) laws have begun to spread, whereby people the police don't like get caged without even the pretense of a so-called 'fair trial' in the shockingly rigged 'justice' system. Ostensibly, VLAD targets 'bikie gangs' and there are even special jail facilities for targeted 'bikies' but these laws are hopelessly broad and can be, and are, used against anyone.

If you're in your late 20s or older, this is no longer the country your parents and grand parents knew. This is a new world order play-pen to do a little advance audience testing before the main event.

But...

Before I completely throw in the towel, I want to stand up and reach out to any other free thinking people - to those that neither want to be imposed upon nor to impose upon others.

I want you to know that I am here and that I am looking for you.

Speak up, make yourself known. Have the courage to say 'No', to challenge authoritarian dogma - even when it comes from friends and family. Be open about what you advocate and what you denounce. Find others to reach out to and revel in evermore creative ways to live your life, your way.
