RE: How to catch a monkey…. let’s not be monkeys on Steemit

in #authors9 years ago

At least with this everyone gets to decide which posts get up voted and who makes money, i think people are already cracking down on the greedy monkeys trying to take all the seeds.

Hopefully we can create an atmosphere where people are upvoteing content for its true value.

Sort:

With the flood of inexperienced minnows joining daily, we will not see wise voting coming from them for a couple of weeks, they have a very large influence on ultra high paying posts at the moment.
So the disparities are going to be with us for quite a while yet...

Perhaps what is required is a sticky FAQ post. It took a while to find out answers to questions - even looking at the steemit tab wasn't that helpful because the fluffy posts without much info were listed in the trending, and the useful posts with hard information were buried (perhaps because not as "fun" to read).

I have faith, people seem to adapt to the thinking here pretty quick, I've only been around 2 days.

Yup, people learn fast but the ratio of experienced votes to new vote spam needs to balance out and that's what will take a few weeks.
