Natural disasters are a special kind of awful for families with special needs. If you know of anyone in the TX/LA area with autism who is affected by Harvey, please pass this on.
My friend Shelley over at Unlocking Autism is experienced in getting this kind of aid to families in need. She dealt with record flooding in Baton Rouge last year and as she said of the current situation, last year was just a dress rehearsal. The scale this time is even more massive. Every penny goes to the families. At this link you can donate or apply for help:

Specifically for Texas:
"If you need help getting out.
The Cajun Navy has set up a channel to dispatch their boats directly to people that are in immediate need of rescue and can't get a hold of public services. To contact them:
They currently have people manning the dispatch desk and are dispatching help when possible.
Cajun Navy SMS: 318-244-2984 – Txt the word HELP
Note: Right now they are asking to screen shot and send address. There's a lot of chatter on the mics"
