HOT RODS, CLASSIC CARS and the need for old school, Americana speed.

Hello Steemers!!!

There is a need for classic speed, and honestly I cannot get enough of these old school, hot rod classics. While many love the newer lighter metal, fiberglass vehicles with higher top speed and performance. You just cannot seem to look away or ignore a piece of American classic as it drives down the road. In my opinion with a classic car speed is not required, it is all about sitting back, relaxing and going with the flow as you listen to some tunes.

Just imagine yourself riding down the highway with the top dropped, your hair flowing in the breeze and a beautiful woman by your side, or visa versa if you are a woman who loves hot rods. Honestly your sexual preference does not matter nor your gender. A hot rod is a hot rod, it is a true equal opportunity ride for one and all.

After all it is a piece of American sexiness that outlasts the test of time in many cases.

There is something about the sound of a hot rod engine that cannot be duplicated, nor the smooth ride, or the neck breaking look you get from people. When you drive a classic, people cannot help but gaze, stare and smile on some occasions. You cannot help but smile yourself as you start to imagine the stories these cars could tell.

Imagine the people who drove them, the lives they led. Think about it for a second, from young sweethearts who had their first kiss in the car, to honey mooners driving off to their new life together with cans strapped to the back of the bumper and a sign that says "Just married". Now imagine the new families driving to the hospital for the delivery of their first child, and the ride back from the hospital as they took that child home. Imagine the many kid trips to school, to camp, to the beaches, family vacations and beyond. Imagine the first day they picked up that puppy from the pound in these cars, imagine that puppy sticking his head out the window for the first time, his little tongue flapping in the breeze as his ears danced in the wind. Imagine the elderly couple who had the car for decades because it held so many memories and told so many stories.

You just cannot help but love a classic, because it is truly a capsule of memories captured in time.

Sadly many Classic cars have been ruined over time, but many others have been restored because people love them. For some it reminds them of their childhood, for others it rekindles their past and for people like me it is a piece of history that I want to preserve. I personally have no preference when it comes to the classics. I love old cars, trucks, motorcycles and rat rods because they capture a moment from ages past still around today, because they remind me of a time when people cared about the product they put out.

In the end whether you love the classics like I or not matters little. What matters is that when you see one driving down the road you cannot help but smile, because someone took the time to bring it back to life and that you can respect. It takes a lot of love, time and money to preserve such a piece of Americana, yet in the end it is oh so worth it.
