I'm not sure how useful that would be in the "end times," to be honest. Without a robust oil sector, gasoline wouldn't be available and you'd be a lot less mobile. I wouldn't mind having one, though, for a bachelor pad. It would be great for a travel photographer, too: not so easy for someone to break in and take your equipment.
If you wnat to go full-on Mad Max, though, I saw a site that had tracked vehicles for sale. If you were good with a welding machine, you could totally make yourself a tank-house. It might even be cheaper than the $500k!
A tank house! lol..I agree, that would be the way to go in a Mad Max scenario. I figured that if you could afford a million dollar Earth Roamer then you would have a system for fuel worked out. If you were buying it for that purpose.
For a traveling bachelor pad, wow, that would be fantastic!
