Here's my entry for @julstamban 's art contest. The theme is anime villain and I chose to do Tendo Pain(Yahiko) from Naruto. This is the first time in 2-3 years since I've drawn on paper since digital art wasn't allowed.

Yahiko was 1 of the founders of the Akatsuki, alongside with Nagato and Konan. The purpose of their group was to bring peace and end the war within their country. After Yahiko was killed, Nagato became the leader of the group and with his powers, he was able to control Yahiko's corpse using black chakara rods that was implanted all over his body. Being under the influence of Obito, Nagato realized that their old way of obtaining peace was no longer possible and the only way to obtain it was to capture all 9 tailed beasts and use their power to create an event so traumatizing that no one would ever want to start a war again.

Out of the 7 Pains, I believe Yahiko was the strongest because of his gravitational powers. Being able to drag something forward/pushing it away by just raising his hand, he can easily beat anyone. Combined with the other 6, they were unbeatable. But they were eventually beaten because main characters never loses.. sometimes..

Process

I started off with this. By doing the shape of the head and the cone of his cloak, I get an idea of where everything else goes.

Next I spaced out the space between nostrils evenly and drew the rods on his nose and then his eyes.

IMG_0723.JPG
Gave him eyebrows, ears and the base of his headband along with some sideburns.

IMG_0724.JPG
Drew his hair and erased the guideline for the head..

Finished the headband, added more rods, made the cloak longer and erased the chin.

Did the eyes and made everything darker. And the shaded one is on the top.

What I used:

  • pencil
  • eraser
  • index card (having it under my hands prevent it from smudging unintentionally)
  • tissue (intentionally smudging)

Nice work @jeembob. First time to see you using pencil in your drawing.

Thanks bgie 😅 . Yea.. it's been a while.. I wanted to ink it too but I wasn't too confident in myself and I didn't have any paperclips to clip another piece of paper over it and trace it. :(
