Yes, I get that. But that's why I brought up polemic literature, because it shows why the Bible mimics passages from Ancient Sumerian text. It's doing so as a verbal taunt in a way. This is common in ancient literature and can be found throughout, for example, ancient Chinese mythos as well. Each new ruler wanted to associate himself with the "gods" and thus, old stories were re-appropriated to reflect the contemporary rulership.
The difference with the Bible is that the idea of a monotheistic Creator God is being distinguished above the pantheon of gods perpetrated by the Sumerians (I believe there are lower case g-gods...but I am not a polytheist. There is only One distinct Creator.)
Moreover, the Tower of Babel account, and the disinheritance of the nations explains world religions, including and specifically that of the ANE with much more clarity than any other ancient document.
