Just watching things unfold

in #awareness8 years ago

Living on the side of a mountain give one time to reflect on what's around you. Seeing the stress and craziness that seems to be live in this country today. I often wonder what it is people are choosing not to understand. A few days a week I might venture out and go down the mountain.. ( the hill as I call it) and do a little shopping, and what I see and feel is an energy of anger and confusion. While I get it, I understand it, I guess I have to wonder... am I the only one that gets it.
I am a basically happy person, intelligent, ( sometimes to a very boring point) I question almost everything I see and hear, I contemplate the world, and sit in silence and allow my thought to run free. I read a lot, and am continuously amazed by what passes as entertainment in this time in our history.
What I have noticed is, as it seems to me, entertainment is either hurting someone verbally ( as the comedians of today seem to thrive off of) or television show that are designed to create drama and depression... Hence why I read a lot.
I don't know what the answer is, seems no matter what one does these days someone will object. I wonder where we are going, how we ever got to this place, and when... WHEN will people begin to see ... we are really all we have, each other, and somehow , we desperately need to come together and stop the constant barrage of negative information, negative attitudes, negative belief systems and get to the place where humanity is ready to come together and just be kind.

Love your post!

See what living in a small town on the side of a small mountain will get ya...lol

I've read all your post and you are spot on I could not have said it better. I quit the TV over a year ago. reading is the way to go and your post were a good read.

Its so strange to me how people can sit in front of a TV day after day... for me most shows are like someone running their nails down a chalk board for hours on end. I live in such a small town where the most exciting thing to do is to go to wal mart ( only store in the next town) Jerome really has no stores. The upside is that you have the peace and quiet to think, to look at things rationally, and the time to read. I do listen to pod casts... ( which can be very informative) Love Coast to Coast and Fade to black, both of which are on you tube... really interesting stuff. I guess I have become boring to the likes of many, since frankly the fake reality of what life should be holds no interest, but what really is, and what our past tells us about who we are fascinates me to no end. Livin' on the side of a mountain with 300 other people kinda does that to ya :)
