I have been delighted with my niece who has spent her first months of life with me, with her I have learned a lot of things, and watching her learn fills me with a very great satisfaction. In these moments she is learning to walk with her falls and everything, I am always behind her so that she does not give herself a bad blow, because she is something naughty. This stage of the children is very fun for both them and for those who take care of them daily, that is why I want to give you some tips for that moment of learning to walk.
After nine months our baby begins to take its first steps, or at least try. Everything starts with the crawling and continues with those funny hesitant steps. And suddenly one day ... they are running around the house! We can help you make your first steps safe.
It is usual for all children to adopt the same pattern before learning to walk:
- They usually learn to master the sitting position between six and eight months.
- The crawling comes between eight and ten months.
- The fork to start walking is wider: between nine and 18 months.
- From one day to the next, the baby will change perspective and start to see everything from above, standing with some support (with his hands on a stool, holding the bars of his crib ...) and he will like it so much. new world, which in a short time will be launched to walk.
Although it is important not to forget that each child has its own rhythm and we should not compare with each other. Every baby is a world!
Tips for the baby to start walking safely
It is important that our son takes his first steps in an area free of objects that can harm him, for example unprotected furniture. Fluffy but firm surfaces, such as grass or a carpet or carpet, will help you get started in this important learning.
It is inevitable that the child suffers a few drops before mastering the balance. If dad or mom are present, he will feel safe despite the occasional whiplash or bump.
In any case, it is better to prevent than to cure: it is advisable to line the corners of the tables, cover plugs, remove objects that may be dangerous from your path ...
The corral
A support that can help the child to develop motor functions is the cradle-park: the playpen. According to experts in psychomotricity, it gathers all the necessary elements to stimulate the child until it takes its first steps: a solid structure, a free space, a pleasant and comfortable floor for all kinds of movements and meshes or nets with enough consistency to that the child can hold on and conquer all the heights until reaching the standing position.
You can even take your first steps in it, going from one extreme to another and losing the fear of emptiness. To encourage him to do so, he can place his favorite toy on one side of the park and point it out for him to pick it up.
Of course, we will only keep the child in the park for a while: he needs more space to investigate, browse and go ... step by step.
Better nothing of walkers
Most specialists discourage the use of the walker or tacata because it can delay the motor function, because even if the child moves and gets to move his legs as if he were walking, he is not learning to hold his body or exercise balance, something necessary to be able to take the first steps.
That is why the use of the walker causes the child to skip beneficial stages for its development. If it is still used, it should be considered as an entertainment rather than as a support to help you walk, limiting your time of use.
