Some of you may know I started traveling a few weeks ago, had some treatment I needed to finish up in another country before I had moved to Asia. As I was done with that, successfully, I realized I wasn't really ready to get back to Hive fully yet. Last time I had had a vacation was over a year ago and being full-time anything can really get to you, especially Hive things where it's usually more than your average 8h job (although depends from day to day of course).
It just gets a lot at some point, especially when the gf and other people not involved with Hive is all they hear about when talking to me, so I decided to postpone coming back home to chill out a little bit in Bangkok and I realize now that I really needed that. The city is pretty amazing as well, I'm usually not a big fan of big cities but it's kind of magical how calm and stressless it is for being so big with such a high population.
More on that with a ton of pictures soon as I've really missed posting and my other activity on chain that's more comfortable to do on a PC.
Some things in no particular order that I'm looking forward to get back to building/improving:
Onboarding, we wanna make onboarding a bit easier but there's been quite a few recent roadblocks there. One of them being these API issues from other web2's that we wanted to be using as a barrier to allowing anyone/everyone to spend/waste our account credits. We haven't been all too happy with how they've been used by hiveonboard and the lack of communication or sign of life from the dev so we've contracted someone to create our own onboarding page and use it for both POSH and OCD onboarding initiatives. Hopefully we get a bit further in that regard very soon.
In the same light, POSH has been under maintenance for a while now, Twitter's making it harder and harder for us to operate somewhat so we'll have to see what kind of methods we can instead adapt to. This one's been a bit in limbo lately as not only are we also revamping the website but we also have to wait to see how Reddit end up implementing the same API gatekeeping that Twitter did and if it's going to make sense for us to attempt to track certain shares. We'll know more after the beginning of next month.
Curation, here we also wanna continue to improve. It's been almost 6 years that OCD has been up and running and being updated constantly. We may shift some things around to maybe not focus on communities as much as we have the past couple years to instead shift a little focus back on those members that have time and time again shown they're here for the right reasons, same goes for curators involved in our program.
Other than that, there's quite a few other things on the backburner that I'll be personally focusing on in the near future that I'm pretty excited about but would be way too early to talk about now. Hopefully once things have stabilized a bit and there's enough certainty of it becoming real I can start sharing with everyone about it. One hint I can give is that if sharing with POSH becomes completely impossible using API's/automation, there's other things POSH can help create and build on Hive which I think will be great for the community and ecosystem. Though at some point I'd be happy to not make these decisions on my own but invite other reputable Hive members to make these decisions side by side with me and treat POSH as a DAO that builds great things for the exciting future of Hive.
Anyway, how are you all doing?
Greetings Mr. Acidyo, I go through your wall to know you a little more, recently I had the honor of being followed by you, and I was really surprised and glad to know that you knew about me. Now knowing about you through this post, I hope you recover completely from the process by which you are going through to make your move more comfortable, it is interesting everything you want to do with POSH, it would be of great support for the needs that are needed according to criteria for the Hive community, I wish you a happy and wonderful day.
Welcome back. Everyone deserves a break from time to time. Good to see you did not switch sides and joined the other two platforms 😏
Looking forward to seeing these changes implemented. Let's see what you come up with.
Welcome back, congratulations from the Brazilian community.
Welcome back.
Bring the green days or at least sustain it!
Welcome back, I hope you had a fantastic time in Bangkok. "Now back to work" time... :)
We all need a rest every now and then! I hope you enjoyed yours, Acid!
I did, cheers! How have you been doing?
Fighting off a cold right now, but been doing alright! Trying to get back into the groove of things! Thanks for asking!
Welcome back! Time to put the plans into action!

(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoWelcome back, I hope the POSH website will recover from Twitter problems. Hive is my 2nd home where I can enjoy the company of virtual friends. I hope you are enjoying your journey. I 'm fine and happy to see you back. Thank you for informing us.
Welcome back!
Sounds really interesting! It's good to see/hear that some people makes blogging here I full time job/career. Maybe, I'll see how I progress overtime. You seem to have a lot of projects here and there. Wishing you the best. Would get to know more as time goes!
There's plenty of ways to earn and different income sources on Hive these days other than just blogging, but I'm sure there are quite a few being helped out by Hive for sure. I just wouldn't recommend people giving up their daytime jobs to pursue Hive earning as it's still quite in the early stages and volatile.
Thanks!
Alright. Thanks a lot for the heads up. I'm still exploring further though, I believe there would be some exciting discoveries down the line.
There's a lot to discover and learn, welcome to Hive! :)
Thanks a lot!
Welcome back legend.
Are there any plans for GOSH, as well?
I see it as being in the early distribution phase that POSH also was in, I'm not going to desert it or anything and keeping an eye open in case other usecases pop up but for now there are a few more important things to get going or back to working which will take up most of my time and attention.
Maybe LEO has some ideas on what more can be done with it as well seeing as most earners are from threads.
Welcome back! We're already doing better knowing you're back with us.
Cheers!
Really great to have you back. I have missed your posts but it's good to see that you're alright and having a swell vacation. Bangkok sounds like a wonderful place so I'm looking forward to pictures.
It really was, keep an eye out for picture posts of mine or @hiddenblade's from bangkok!
That's all a lot of updates, man. Sometimes we all need a vacation, right now I'm with my family and I'm enjoying my vacation here. Also today is my birthday, I haven't had any cake yet and the day is already over here. I think I will make my own cake as usual.
Happy irl cakeday! :D show us what u make!
Welcome back and hope you had a great vacation. POSH is not working and I looking forward to see working like before. Although we have got GOSH but I think it requires more work, may be.
web2 isn't going down without a fight, haha
Fuck, having so much accumulated stress makes you literally explode, great that you're back, it's always good to take a vacation and come back with much more enthusiasm. cheer up with the projects you have in mind man, everything will be fine!
We've been good, feels good to have you back Acid.
I am really looking forward to the developments that will be coming to posh.
Best wishes, you're in good health I hope.
Ah, so this is the vacation you mentioned 🙂 I'm glad you got to have a good break. Sounds like there are lots on cool things coming up in the near future.
As for the onboarding, your post reminded me that I originally used HiveOnBoard for my previous account and the process went smoothly, but I know that some people have written posts about trying to onboard non-Hivers and they've found the process too focus-intensive. It's because our attention spans these days are worse than goldfish. I can understand you wanting to limit the account credits just being used willy-nilly. I still think that paying for a signup isn't a bad thing. I did it this last time because it just seemed the easiest, but I suppose those that are not crypto savvy wouldn't know how to do it, so there is a necessity for a "free" sign up method when trying to onboard Web2 peeps.
Will be watching with interest.
Welcome back @acidyo!
It's great to see your spirits high and thinking of ways to more effectively tailor POSH to the current environment of Hive with specific considerations for supporting long time members who add positive influence to the network, and this could certainly ease the workload of the OCD.
How many curators are working for the team these days if I may ask?
It's cool that we have this beneficiaries thing too.. because it would be a nice way for content creators who are receiving continual support from OCD to pay it forward to the amazing people who've worked so hard supporting the Hive Blockchain :)
I think incentivizing vote % based on beneficiary contributions to curators should be a no no, because that would open the door for more suspicious connotation than anything, but I'm sure certain content creators will add some beneficiary support in the future no matter what, because it's just a good thing to do :)
These futuristic POSH thoughts are really tickling the futuremind's fancy, love it! :D
Including community curators/moderators I think we're at around 60, but given the times and post activity lately among other things we've been meaning to reduce it and maybe give some new (or old) ones a try.
beneficiaries are awesome but sadly not used much, I'd love to see it being used in more non-profit ways for everyone involved, like sending part to projects that assist the whole ecosystem (think the DHF or POSH (before its current issues)), in that regard I don't see how it could be abused if some authors prefer attention over rewards for certain posts but with the low user activity today I don't see many craving the attention neither.
Things can change quick, though.
I'm sure there's some old curators around who would be happy to come back.
That's a good point, the likeliness is low and wouldn't slip by the community if it started happening.
After all these years I am still of the mind that Hive is going to mass onboard and become a mainstream thing within the next 2-7 years. It might happen sooner, but time goes quickly when you're not thinking about it.
I see OCD as instrumental in the adoption and onboarding.
Hope whatever treatment you had to finish getting went well and that you're doing good, bruv.
Wishing you good health! Welcome back to the Hive blog.

Hmm... Welcome back dude
Welcome back! Any plans for POSH + the Fediverse?
I didn't find Mastodon interesting to me but Lemmy social media (lemmy.world instance is the biggest) looks lively and fun. It's a new old Reddit for those who dislike what original Reddit become. Fast growing, it looks like. Many active people, content creators who potentially can become part of Hive or, at least, can learn about Hive. There, you can still communicate to the whole (instance's) community if your post is popular.
Maybe too early to do anything about Lemmy... or "it's still early" and it's time to do some moves.
Someone potentially can get much more attention on Lemmy than on Twitter. Also, Hivers can get more influence in the whole cryptocurrency narrative on Lemmy (which almost doesn't exist there, still) to eventually spread what Hive is. The whole thing isn't hard because generally Lemmy is Reddit (created by rebels 😁) so you don't need to learn anything new.
Another thought (good or bad, not sure). Anybody can create their own Lemmy instance, why not create a pro-Hive CryptoLemmy if some Hive devs can do it? (cryptolemmy dot com is available to buy btw).
My first attempt on Lemmy got 131 upvotes:
Probably, I am too optimistic because of coffee with sugar I've had... 😁 But... Just thinking out loud. 🙂
I just got back to Cambodia from the USA, feels good to be back. The border with Thailand near our home was supposed to open in April for the first ever international crossing checkpoint in this area, but it's been delayed. We would really love access to Thailand, Trat is just a short drive from us, got doctors, dentists, bowling alleys and everything we can imagine from the modern world. Right now we can only cross the border near our house for emergency medical situations.
You had a well-deserved break and no doubt it's great to see you back but taking breaks and enjoying real life is something way too important to keep postponing. Looking forward to seeing some pictures shared by you :)
Welcome back, well all need a break to be refreshed and often come back refocused or with a different focus.
I too had a break, ended up staying in an AirBnB in Orkney which actually was my house when I was a teenager many moons ago. Surreal experience I can tell you and I too took shit loads of pics which I will post about.
Interesting things perhaps with Reddit, we shall see.
Hope the treatment went well and you get back into the swing of it all in your own time.
Thanks for the updates. Btw this is the first time I hear that Bangkok is a calm city :) Haven´t been there myself yet but I thought it´s the epitome of craze and tumult :D
@tipu curate
Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 50/60) Liquid rewards.
Glad you had a good vacation. You definitely earned it, and yea, taking a break is really good for you mentally.
Interesting hints about changes coming. Looking forward to seeing more!
That is good that you got some time off. I am going to have a couple weeks coming up in the summer and I think it is going to be weird to not be as active on here as I have been over the past five years or so. I know what you mean about it being hard when none of your real life people are really into Hive. This is such a huge part of my life that I love sharing, but not everyone can handle the non stop Hive talk! Maybe one day I will be able to onboard someone who loves it as much as I do.
Good to see you back here. It's after a long time I received a notification of your post. Hehe.
Sometimes taking a break and enjoy life is necessary 🙂.
Welcooooooooome Baku!
Grrrrrrr i wanna see some outdoor post like what @solo does.
Especially if you have any animals, specifically Ducks. Then that would be epic!
We must assemble the biggest duck army ever to take over the World!
Welcome back @acidyo ,a well reserved break for you!! We look forward to work and improvement here. Do remember your great work is appreciated by all.
Welcome back @acidyo!
Okeeey, it's great to have you back! Welcome back from the well deserved break.
This would be an utterly amazing idea. This way, there would be some sort of equity. But I'm wondering tho, how feasible would it be. Going around daily in search of these people. It could be really taskful.
