In the kitchen of the hostel, there is a box called "free food". Usually, when people leave the hostel they leave the things they don't want any more. Most of the time they leave oil, salt, things like that. Sometimes you can find clothes or shoes. In general, things that people don't want to travel with anymore.
Last week I found in this box the most unexpected thing ever. A plastic bag filled with different mountings for the go pro, 2 memory sticks, some labels with the name "Mauro" aaaaaaaand condoms, heaps of condoms.
Ooooooooobviously we began to ask who? and why? someone leaves a bag full of condoms in the free food of the hostel? You can always need one and condoms are not as bottles of alcohol or drugs ... no one will tell you at the airport. 'Sorry sir, you can only bring two condoms in your luggage'.
Therefore, we try to guess what might happen and ended up with three theories.
Theory 1. Steffi's theory.
Mauro was travelling for some time in NZ but he has a girlfriend at home in Germany. Everybody is German in this country so yeah for sure he is German. So my friend Mauro can't go back to Germany with a bag full of condoms because his girlfriend is picking him up at the airport. Mauro is an intelligent person and prefers to avoid an awkward moment with her by leaving the condoms behind.
Theory 2. Christina's theory.
My friend Mauro is not the German who came to travel alone and party to NZ. Nooooo my friend is a nice guy actually came to NZ with his girlfriend and were travelling all over for a few months.
Before they took their flight back to Germany, my other friend "Mauro's girlfriend" told him that she was pregnant. Since they had to catch a flight back to Europe decided to leave the bag full of condoms. They are not gonna need it for some months and it can be useful for someone else.
Theory 3. Mariana's theory.
My friend Mauro, was travelling in New Zealand with his gay partner but ended their relationship during this time. Mauro was left with a bag of condoms that he can't use because its former partner's size was L and Mauro is XL.
Bonus. Carolina's theory
The condoms were for sure from the Mexican Social Security and since that shit doesn't make the job properly, there is no point in travelling with it...
