The last few days in Mongolia I just relaxed. Horse Riding, walking through beautiful green valleys, playing with nomad kids, reading a book and just being a bit lazy, watching horse rides. Backpacking is not vacation this is for sure and I was pretty lucky to relax a bit. I am thankful to be able a part of the nomads. Living with them was a big pleasure!!

Germans love to watch football, Mongolians love to watch horse rides :)

My travel mate is a vegetarian and eat just fruits, vegetables, bread and cookies :)

If you want traveling as a vegetarian through Mongolia, you should buy vegetables in the city and take it with on the countryside. Mongolians are eating just meat and milk products.

I just wanted to order a salad. People do not speak english over there. If you are waving your head to the left and to the right, like you want say no in the western world it means a yes in Mongolia :D Maybe that s why I get rice, eggs, potato fries and goat meat :)

@lenatramper,

It seems you're very close to the nomads. How does the interaction work? Were you just wandering around and chatting with random people, did you have a guide, or were living with some of them?

thank you very much for your comment, I will make a post about it and will answer all questions, cause it is not that easy to get in touch with them, they do not speak english :)

Looking forward to reading it. Maybe reference my comment or reply me, so I can follow along with the discussion.

yes I made a post about that :)

@lenatramper This looks like so much fun! I love traveling and going on adventures!! :)

thank you very much, yes I love it too :)))

They're not big salad-eaters over there ;)

Did you ever try fermented goat's milk? When I was in Mörön we visited a local nomad family with our guide and watched as they sort of swished around the goat's milk in a huge animal hide, apparently they had to do this a few thousand times each day.

When our guide asked the father of the household how much he drank (it's something like 2-3% alcohol I believe) he laughed and said in Mongolian, "as much as I can, every day, all day!" It's pretty sour and I'd much prefer a cold beer, but definitely worth trying.

Sounds like an awesome time. I'm looking forward to traveling one day.

Thanks Lena for sharing your awesome adventure!!

Beautiful scenes, like the food. Thanks for sharing

Very interesting how the rest of the world eats and lives!

nice! Need to go there soon...

Great post once again @lenatramper.
That's one funny food combo you got going there haha, well if you are hungry it's possible to eat almost anything :D

Super Post @lenatramper mal wieder - Du wurdest nominiert um als Steemian of the Day vom German-Trail vorgestellt zu werden, leider erreiche ich Dich nicht im Steemit.chat um Details zu besprechen - Du kannst mich dort unter gleichem Nutzernamen erreichen, würde mich freuen.
