It's been almost a week since my last story, and I feel it's time to continue it. My trip in Malaysia lasted for 3 months, a period that gave me the chance to explore it for good. I had the chance to meet some locals, which they showed me around, and toured me in some really cool places, places that I would not had the chance to see if I was just travelling.
After staying 2 weeks at Kuala Lumpur, I decided it was time to move on and to go to other places of Malaysia. My next destination was Cheratting, a village by the sea, located on the west side of the island. The reason for going there was mainly because I am a surfer, and I had people recommending Cheratting to me.
Cheratting is a small village, with no more than 300 people living there. What I really liked about is that people was gathering at gardens to cook, and there where hostels with surfers hanging around. People were friendly and nice, and I decided to stay a week there.
The beach in Cheratting is quite nice and long. You can find yourself walking for hours while it won't end.
There is also a very beautiful lake near the village, hidden from the public, which we had the chance to explore after a guy that was working at the hotel offered us a tour around the village. (Unfortunately I did not capture a nice picture, hope you like it)
I will repeat my self here, that this is one of the main reasons that I do backpacking, not only I have the chance to meet new people and learn new things, but I will also have the opportunity to see more of our planet Earth.
What do you believe that you have to gain by travelling ?
