The Mumbai batsman made his Test debut when he was 16 and is the only player to have scored 100 international centuries in the history of the game. Tendulkar is the first batsman to score a double century in a one-day international. He retired from international cricket in 2013 after scoring 18,426 ODI runs and 15,921 runs in Tests. Tendulkar was awarded the Bharat Ratna - India's highest civilian award - in 2014 for his outstanding sporting achievements. He is considered one of India's greatest sports icons.
