DAY 4 out of the 5-day trip adventure.
Baguio City, The City of Pines.
The adventure continues, we got our ticket from a nearby terminal and in an 11pm to 3 am trip we reached Baguio. And with a temperature of 16 degrees, it's quite cold. We got a room in the hotel me and my family booked before for $14 a day. The people there were quite friendly.
We were getting ready but it's raining, luckily we found some indoor places to visit online. So off we go!
Baguio is known for its thrift stores and we need to buy some clothes to battle the cold weather, since all of our clothes are for the summer due to the unplanned trip here. ??
He said "It's not cold, it's very cold". :D
He bought a north face jacket for $3.00, not bad right? ??
We then had our brunch at this local One Piece themed restaurant.
We had our orders taken and we got the chance to explore and take some pictures of one of my all time favorite anime-inspired restaurant.
They even have this shelf of hundred of one piece characters, it's just amazing.
Some close-ups I included:
My personal favorite is this, with oh so adorable Chopper.
Then our orders arrived and I'm more amused.
And a free kimchi on the house, yay! thank you. the owner was there and surprisingly he is not Japanese, but Korean so to explain the Korean cuisine. A one piece fan certainly though.
After the sumptuous brunch, our hearts are ready for the adventures ahead even with this rain. ??
We then visited Mines View Park, the view from the observation deck of the park is a breathtaking panoramic view of Benguet's gold and copper mines and the surrounding mountains unfolds before you. It is a spectacular sight to behold and should not be missed when visiting Baguio. I've visited before but we wanted to see what it looks like when it's raining. Not disappointing at all.
Since I'm a frustrated artist and like arts and crafts, we rode a cab to go to the Easter School of Weaving. It's quite far from the city. it's a 20 minute ride.
This are the finished products with their respective prices.
This big background is worth $350. You'll know why later.
We went down to where they make these beautiful things.
There are more likely 20-30 women weaving there. and as we walked right pass them with them working on different designs we were in full awe.
These women are amazing.
Even with the busy work and intricate designs they make, they managed to welcome us with some warm smiles and some hellos. We decided not to talk to them further so not to distract them and quietly just watched them.
After that we went to more finished products for sale. I bought some pouches and beaded bracelets as souvenirs and gifts to my family.
They also make costumes like the iconic barong tagalog, baro's saya and local tribes' for both children and adult.
You can even give them a customized design and they will make it for you, some are for school banners or companies logos.
What an experience, witnessing the raw materials being created to these beautiful piece of arts.
We then went back to the city and had some ice cream on the second floor viewing deck of non air-conditioned mall (due to it's colder outside than inside). Also we were only told by the cab driver that the rain is due to a storm. Bad timing, nut we eill make the most of of it anyway.
We then had our dinner at a 50's themed dinner so the name.
For $5 you will be full and may take home some of it, we did have some of it for breakfast the following day. Yes, it's a big serving. You may have some difficulty choosing between the meals since you just want to try them all.
If you think that concludes our day 4, nah. In Baguio we they have a popular thing called night market. So after little rest we went to this night market.
There's a variety of things for sale, it's like a big mall in the street. Yes, in the street. One street is literally closed off at night for the vendors to put up their tents and stalls for the various products they sell. From trinkets like these..
..to clothes, accessories, gadgets, bags, shoes and a lot more. There are even fresh flowers there as well, so since it's our monthsary, why not right. ??
It's worth $.90.
We bought another jacket for $3, shoes for $6, a shirt for $3 as well and a lot more.
Got this cutie for $4. another additional to my collection.
We ate some snacks and went back to the hotel around 1AM.

Looks like a real adventure!
It is. It's not the typical tourist spots. Also we enjoyed despite the rain.
Baguio City is never like before where, the pine city was really beautiful and full of greens. No dotted of houses that time way back 2000.
Oh. I would love to see that version. It's quite crowded now.
Nice post
Thanks.
