Hi bakers and kitchen explorers! Today, I have a great story about making delicious banana bread with overripe bananas. Some friends came over, so it was the perfect time to serve this tasty treat. Let's start!

I had some bananas in my kitchen that were getting soft and spotted. Most people would throw them away, but not me! I knew it was the perfect time to make banana bread.

I decided to add a little something extra to my banana bread: chocolate chips, raisins, and nuts. This made it extra flavorful and textured. You can add whatever you like to your banana bread. It's really easy to make banana bread. Just mix the ingredients together, pour it into a pan, and bake. Your kitchen will smell amazing!

When my banana bread was almost done, my friends came over. It was perfect timing! I was so excited to share my fresh-baked banana bread with them.

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans are great)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  4. Add the baking soda and salt to the mixture and stir.
  5. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  6. Add the flour and mix until just incorporated. Don't overmix.
  7. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, raisins, and chopped nuts.
  8. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
  9. Bake for about 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
