Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has handed over the Independence Medal to 18 people in 7 categories as a recognition of the glorious and accomplished contribution of the national level. He presented the prize at around 11am at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the city.Kazi Zakir Hasan, Shaheed Intellectuals are awarded posthumously for the year's freedom and liberation war. M. A Rashidul Hasan, Shankar Govinda Chowdhury, M. Abdur Rahim, Bhupati Bhushan Chowdhury alias Manik Chowdhury, Shaheed Lie Md. Anwarul Azim, Humayun Rashid Chowdhury, Shahid Amanullah Mohammad Asaduzzaman, Shahid Matiur Rahman Mallik and Shahid Sergeant Zahrul Haque.Air Vice Marshal (retd) Sultan Mahmud Bir Uttam, Amzadul Haque have been given the medal for their contributions in the Liberation War and Liberation War. Professor Dr. At the Who MD Ahsan Ali in medical science, Professor AK Azad Khan in social service, Selina Hossain literature and more. Md. Abdul Majid got Sheikh Safa Siraj Swadhinata Padak in food security, Asaduzzaman Noor in culture and Shik Siraj in Agriculture Journalism.
