I disagree. I think they would accept it if its value was high enough and there was enough demand for bitcoin acceptance. This technology was somthing many people wrote off at first, and many people still do, which allowed us to grow the ecosystem to a level where it could no longer be ignored. My biggest concern in terms of state control of bitcoin comes from its reliance on SHA encryption, which was developed by the NSA. There is the possibility that the NSA wouldnt have released these algorithms without a way to defeat them.
