Night Logic

in #basic7 years ago

I recently posted a video about what we as steemians should do in the late evenings. Here is the story behind the post.IMG_0237.JPG
In the old days... Before networks, before smartphones, before the internet there were the first computers. I spent a big part of my life writing programs for these 8 bit machines. They were basic. They usually ran the DOS operating system. Those of us who were writing programs at the time used compilers to make our code understood by the processor. My first compiler was for the BASIC language. These were the days where each line of code had a number (before names were allowed).

To control the flow of the logic we used goto statements like ' if X = 4236 then goto line 4000 else goto line 5000 '.

Because the code was so cryptic and written before word processors came, it was easy to get lost in a long file containing line numbers followed by logic statements.

As I thought about my video, I reverted back to basic.

The point of the video was to say... If you are satisfied with your contributions to Steemit, then go to sleep, otherwise try again.

Here is today's beauty. It is a thumbnail... Get it?
