If you're not making money as a writer, or fill in the blank, the market is sending you a signal that those things are not needed. Redirecting (or stealing) money from workers and sending it to non-workers will be a net loss in wealth to society. We need more food, medicine, and appliances to be produced, Not charm bracelets and manifestos....

What you aren't considering is that more and more jobs are being taken by automation. So for those who are unemployed, there's essentially two options: 1. do absolutely nothing, other than jump through bureaucratic hoops; or 2. Actually do something that has value to the individual and most likely to others as well. You are saying we need to do 1, because... outdated capitalism reasons..., even while the numbers of unemployed due to automation continue to grow. It's illogical.
