The true answer is NOTHING. China had universal income once. People showed up to work and did nothing except chilling an playing cards all day. Obviously, the country went bankrupt. Just because SOME people are driven by autonomous desires for mastery does not mean that MOST people will not prefer to do nothing and just get a cozy paycheck at the end of the month.
