Some big news today in the landscape of the NBA. A shake-up on one of the biggest markets in the league and a blockbuster trade!
Phil Jackson and Knicks to part ways
Source-http://www.businessinsider.com/new-york-knicks-expected-to-fire-phil-jackson-2017-6
Today is a wonderful day for me as I am Knicks fan and I'm not the only happy fan I'm sure. As I am sure most of us NBA fans have heard by now GM if the NY Knicks Phil Jackson, is finally getting the ax after for the last few seasons he has nearly destroyed the already hurt reputation of the NY Knicks. This comes after Carmelo Anthony reportedly would only leave if a buyout was on the table. James Dolan owner of the Knick was left with a decision and made one by letting the GM go. This leaves the Knicks with a vacancy in their front office and a lot of questions as to what they will do going forward.
Chris Paul to the Housten Rockets
Also in the news today, 9 time NBA All-star Chris Paul from the Clippers was traded for Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, Sam Dekker, Montrezl Harrell, Darrun Hilliard, DeAndre Liggins, Kyle Wiltjer, a protected first-round pick next year and cash considerations. This comes as a move to try and strengthen the chances of overcoming the Warriors in the already strong Western Conference. This leaves the LA Clippers in a situation where they have to decide, rebuild or keep trying with the stars they have left, only time will tell.
The Big3 Basketball League
I am a bit late as far as the 3 vs 3 league is concerned and after watching some of the highlights I think this league has a lot of potential. I want to know what the general opinion on this leagues is so I can know whether people want news about it. I think it was cool to see some ex-NBA players on the court again.
So happy the Knicks let PJax go. Man was falling asleep on the job! If the Knicks didnt already have enough problems, right?!
Yeah, Phill Jackson, I think should just retire in general he has earned it at this point!
Top 3 backcourts in the nba:
Paul/Harden
Curry/Thompson
DeRozan/Lowry
.... right?
Lillard/Mccollum?
Paul George and Westbrook up there now as well but Curry and Klay still the best the are proven in pressure situations
Probably right now yeah I would also add Wall/Beal!
Lots of big news today. A great day of Basketball news. The Rockets if they can land Paul George which they are attempting will be able to challenge the Warriors. Still trying to figure out what Jerry West wants to do with the team. I wrote a story this morning about the trade but I was unaware until later that the Clippers DID NOT offer Paul a 5th year. Thus not giving him a financial advantage to stay and West did not even attend the meeting. They wanted to move Paul for assets. WOW.
You and you fellow Knick fans must be rejoicing. NO MORE triangle. And no more having a guy TRYING to get fired. I don't think I have ever seen someone thought of as a Genius turn into a Villlage Idiot as fast as Phil Jackson did in New York. lol.
Big3 was cool I saw one game and I was interested. I like the rules. They made one change today and mentioned instead of playing to 60 they are playing to 50 now. The old guys can not keep up. lol. But I like it. It's like watching a pick up game with great players. You know a street team would destroy these guys. Those guys can ball and they are young.
Thank you for the insightful comment! Yeah the big 3 league has potential I think. Also you have no idea how happy I am that Phill is gone respect to his pedigree but DAMN my Knicks man he did so much damage!!
Phill is gone, Phill is gone, Phill is gone, great news
