Once Shaq went to miami i suppose that was the end of the lakers or at least the downward slide into mediocrity.

Yes I agree. Its a shame they couldn't get along better. It definitely took a little bit longer for Kobe to find success post-Shaq. A lot of interesting story lines when it comes to those two.
