Butterflies are one of the most beautiful animals and everyone likes, but to be a beautiful butterfly it certainly has a long process. This process is called metamorphosis, which is a series of processes of formation, ranging from hatching eggs, caterpillars, cocoons and to butterflies.
1.Eggs
Generally the butterfly lay its eggs at the tip / bottom of the leaves. This egg has a very small size, and is usually white. Butterfly eggs will hatch within 3 to 5 days. when out they will make a small hole in the egg.
2.Caterpillars
After the eggs are laid by the butterfly on the leaves the eggs hatch into caterpillars (larvae) At this stage many people feel disgusted to see it. Every day the worms will eat the leaves and have very fast growth. As the growth of the caterpillar size will exceed its own skin. So that the caterpillar will naturally change skin
Usually the caterpillar will change skin 4 to 6 times. When the caterpillar has reached its maximum size it will stop to eat. and then looking for a shelter, to turn into a cocoon.
3.Cocoon
Well when the caterpillar has stopped eating, caterpillar seek shelter and transform itself into a cocoon.
The cocoon has a smooth, hard and usually brown, green leather structure. This as a camouflage form with the surrounding environment. At this time the cocoon looks like it is resting, but true in it is going on the process of forming butterflies for 7 to 20 days depending on the species.
4.Butterfly
After the cocoon process over the past 7-20 days then the butterfly was out of the cocoon before, well be a beautiful butterfly and dazzle our eyes. Early butterfly or wing butterfly wings still wet, tangled and small.
Adult butterflies will usually fly anywhere to find their food
Usually the butterflies will land on the flowers that are blooming and will suck nectar as food.
Then continue over and over and over so
The long process of the disgusting caterpillar produces beautiful butterflies
This is all I can say may be useful and a lot of flaws, just remember the animal ecology course when college.
