Researchers at the University of Washington have created a cell phone that uses so little power, it never needs to charge and doesn't have a battery. Instead, it pulls power from ambient light and radio waves.

Watch there be smartphones with the back of the phone being a solar panel. Which, i am surprised there hasn't been yet.
This seems like a nice option for people in third world countries with no power but still want to communicate between each other and the rest of the world.

You know the problem with this technology it doesn't make money for the power companies or any major corp so the chances are slim that we will ever see it replace cell phones because all the people who created it will be bought, for or dead.
