I have been a fan of the BBC for years but as I get older and more aware of how the world works I am starting to see the BBC in a darker and darker light because at the end of the day an organization is only as good as its members, so even if the initial intend behind the BBC was good it is currently sitting right in the center of good and bad.
I can't say the BBC is all bad because I don't believe that as you can't deny the fact that they do some truly great work and employ some amazing people, however in the age of media that we are currently in it's seemingly impossible to not push an agenda. The intentions don't particularly matter as one person could deem an agenda good and someone else could deem it bad, it's just down to perspective I guess.
A few days ago I posted about the way the media discuses drill music and how they were saying it encourages violent behavior and the BBC was one of the organizations discussing this topic, with the stand point of it encouraging violence, however on YouTube not only do they regularly have drill artists on they also posted a documentary about Christians who make drill.
The BBC will be entirely aware of the audience they have on television and on the internet and posting such different views and opinions in places that don't get a huge crossover in audience is bound to create tension and people having vastly different opinions on the same subject even though they could have all got their information from the same company.
To me it seems rather back handed to have on portion of your media discussing how something is entirely bad and then another portion discussing almost the opposite view. Now they may not have some horrible agenda of creating a divide but non the less they are doing so to some extent and with the resources they have they should show the different standpoints to their different audiences, otherwise it could seem like it is done on purpose.
I know this is only one example but I want to carry on with it because I feel it is very relevant at this time and a truly don't understand how on television you can go around saying how a type of music causes violence and we need to do something about it, to then having artists like K-Trap (an infamous name in drill) and Kenny Allstart (a dj who widely supports drill) on their YouTube page.
Now the issue I see with this is that they are against on one side then promoting the same thing on the other side as they know they have very different audiences listening to 1xtra than watching BBC 1 and if they have the journalistic integrity that they should have, the should either not be promoting something they say is causing violence or at least show on both platforms that there are multiple sides to the story.
So really even if the intentions aren't bad it will still cause a divide between the audience of BBC1 and the audience of 1Xtra and that is quite a large divide if you think about the size and true influence the BBC has because when the BBC says something people believe it and they know that. I just find it strange that an organization with such influence is promoting the same thing they are saying causes crime and violence.
However for the most part I think the BBC does do a good job at telling multiple sides and admitting when they are wrong however there has been a few situations over the past few years where the BBC has got a lot of bad press for covering up some awful things, so I really struggle to make up my mind and decide how I feel about the BBC and I think that could always be the case. Sometimes I will agree with what they do and sometime I will be far from agreeing.
I see nothing good about the BBC, if you are not a sheep!
I used to think it was, good, but since I woke up - the last 10 years - it is nothing but a government arm of propaganda, and their overseas media network is a soros connected subversion group.
(And I will hate them forever, for spoiling Dr who. for me! lol)
I am definitely starting to like the BBC less and less but for me there still are a few individuals in the organisation that I have a lot of respect for and I hope that in time more and more 'good' people will join the organization and change it for the better.
Actually these days it is much more sheep-like to say you don't like the BBC.

Unfortunately most people don't understand how TV works, especially a huge organisation such as the Beeb.
I'll explain in brief, Aunty is made up of several thousand semi-autonomous Producers, very few of whom are directly answerable to BBC top brass.
On top of that there are many hundred independent production companies used by the beeb, whom also are not answerable to beeb high command.
These producers do what they are meant to, and that is produce content, then various commissioning editors commission the content. These editors are widely spread about the world, some work at head office, many do not.
BBC internet services is for all intents and purpose are a separate company, so it is not surprising at all that the commissioning editor for the program you saw on tv, has different views than the one for the online content.
This by the way is how they remain independent, by allowing such autonomy. We have seen this time and time again in situations whereby they 'blow the whistle' on themselves!
So in conclusion, it is best to analyse in depth what you are watching, rather than just assuming because it's on the same channel, does not mean that there is some kind of universal view/conspiracy (which would be a fair assumption on any other channel)
I for one say long live the beeb, because without it we would live in a nightmare world whereby Rupert Murdoch and 2 or 3 others would control the mainstream news.

thanks for the insight, makes a lot of sense.
I agree that the BBC is necessary and without them we would have a lot of issues and they make a lot of good shows.
