Hi community!
The Polish player's contract will be extended until 2026 with a salary reduction.
Robert Lewandowski will remain at Barça for another season and is expected to be officially confirmed after the upcoming international break. The renewal of the Barça center forward was already part of FC Barcelona's plans, signing the Polish player from Bayern Munich on July 1, 2022, for a four-year contract, until June 30, 2026, subject to a series of conditions.

In the negotiations between the player's agent, Robert Lewandowski, Pini Zahavi, and Barça's then Director of Football, Mateu Alemany, a series of conditions were considered, taking into account the player's status and age. In this regard, the two parties agreed on a first-year salary of €20 million gross. This amount would increase year on year, rising to €26 million in his second season, €32 million in his third, but dropping back to €26 million in his fourth year. According to the clause stipulated in the contract, Barça would have the right to terminate the contract if, in his third year as a Barça player, Lewandowski did not play 55% of the matches (starting or adding a minimum of 45 minutes in each), making the transfer contingent on his performance.
In the league match against Rayo Vallecano, Robert Lewandowski exceeded the percentage of official appearances required to automatically trigger his renewal clause.
In his first season as a Barça player, he earned the top scorer award with 23 goals, but at 36 years old, the number 9 is an undisputed starter and has already scored 21 goals in all competitions. His best scoring record came in the 2020-21 season with 41 goals for Bayern Munich, thanks to Hansi Flick, who secured the sixth title.
