Vitor Roque was Barcelona's big signing in the 2024 winter transfer market. They signed him in the summer of 2023 for a fixed 30 million euros plus another 30 million in variables, but this season he headed to Betis due to the little weight he had, and was going to continue to have, in the Catalan team. At Benito Villamarín, on the other hand, he is being a protagonist, although his future could be, again, in Brazil.
According to the UOL portal, Palmeiras, one of the most powerful clubs in the South American country, wants to sign the centre forward. The Brazilian team, which already had a look at him a few months ago, wants to strengthen itself with a number 9 and Vitor Roque is one of its main candidates. It would be willing to present a succulent offer of around 25/30 million euros. The market in the South American country is still open: it ends on the 28th of this month.
Palmeiras knows that Barça is interested in completing the deal because despite the high expectations and outlay it put into his signing, it did not count on Xavi or Hansi Flick. The 19-year-old striker has no place in the Catalan club and the offer would allow him to practically recover the investment. The Brazilian board therefore prefers to establish contacts with the Catalan club's managers, who own his rights, and not with those of the Andalusian club.
Betis would not facilitate his departure: they are not in favour of his transfer going through. He is playing a leading role in the Betis team: he has played in 30 matches, scored seven goals and provided one assist. In addition, in the Conference, Pellegrini's squad only has two registered forwards: him and Bakambu.
Vitor Roque left Villamarín on loan for a season, but the Andalusian club has several options to extend his stay. The young forward has a contract with Barcelona until June 2031. With the culé shirt, he has played 16 games: 353 minutes. And has scored two goals.
