So this past weekend I had a tripped planned to go to Baltimore for the weekend. I am from there & all my family still lives there! Plus they have a fair and parade for the fourth of july & its pretty much like a big party in the whole town, the whole weekend! Sounds fun, right? Of course it is & it was a childhood tradition of mine! The fair all weekend, fireworks, & then the big parade! So I decided I wanted to also make this a tradition for my children as well! But we live in florida & thats a big trip but have been going every year only missing a few years here or there! Well I could not make it :( Bummer, I know!
I was totally bummed about not being able to make the trip! So last minute I found a hotel on the beach to go to for the night, to get my mind off of not being able to go! I really just wanted to relax & be completely stree free! So I found a babysitter & off we went to Belleair Beach!
We get there and have lunch at Crabbys on the beach! We ordered gator bites, buffalo chicken qeusadillas, & watermelon margaritas! Time to get the party started! Well down goes the first drinks & we are enoying our bites & it starts to rain! Of course it does! But wait! Just as we are finshing up it stops & sun is shining like there was never a cloud in the sky!
After walking along the strip on the beach looking at shops, we bought the kids some tshirts & water shoes! Then remembered the hotel has beach crusiers we could sign out & decided to go for a ride!
We rode for about 3 miles down the beach to a state park called Sand Key! We went back into the park & followed a little trail that led back the water! It was not a shore line but along side a dock basically! We are just sitting there on a bench, there are two men over to left from us fishing & what do we see? Three doplhins literally within ten feet from the bench I was sitting on! I was amazed! I have never been this close to a dolphin, ever! I could see the detail on the skin, hear the noises he was making! It was incredible! They stayed there in front of us playing, dancing and fishing in the water for about 30 minutes! Wow, that is something I wish everyone will get to experience!
We finished our bike ride back to the hotel, showered & headed out to dinner! Ocean Flame Bar & Grill, it was delicious! Hung out on the beach front bar until about midnight!
We left the next morning! It was not a very long trip what so ever! But I came back refreshed! As if the ocean helped reset my soul! Those dolphins were something else! I just cant quite explain it!
