Whilst trying to work out what to do on Sunday, we decided to go to the beach and eventually ended up at picturesque place called Rottingdean in East Sussex UK, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rottingdean). Its a quaint little place we found by purely accident after taking a wrong turn on a dual carriage way. After about half a mile of being lost we spotted the sea in the distance and headed towards the bluey grey vista on the horizon. On the outskirts of this tiny seaside village you start to become aware of how old this place is with over hanging houses dating back to the last century and eventually panning out to a open area with a large pub and hotel. (picture credit to the White horse hotel ).
Although the tide was in, you could still see the rocks covered in masses of seaweed and glistening rock pools glinting in the distance, we walked along the coastal path until we came across a hidden cafe with showers for bathers and one water tap monopolized by a cute short haired dog.
This place is well worth a visit if your looking for a quiet beach not that far from London
