Beach Wednesday: Catching the wave or get caught!!
I am not sure if he caught the wave or the wave caught him, but in any case riding waves are always a lot of fun.
This photo was taken in 2009 while on holiday at Pletenberg Bay, which is in the Western Province of South Africa.
Hope you enjoyed it.
You just remind me my last year same kind of experience. Actually I love that!
I had that experience at Mirissa bay - Sri Lanka. it's a surfing area and I was decided to swim a bit. I didn't catch the waves, waves caught me :D
Thanks for sharing such wonderful photography!@rynow,

I just love to swim in the waves!!
Me too, but at Mirissa I had experiences with 10-15 feet waves (atleast) and I was flattened! ha ha ha :D@rynow,
Cheers~
Best,
Isaac@rynow I would have not noticed any difference from that surf compared to the surf in oceanside CA... Must be a lot of surfers in south Africa.
Yes we have some very good surfing beaches.
Riding the waves in the ocean is one of the best feelings in the world --for kids of any age:) Of course, every now and then you get clobbered by one, but it's all part of the fun.
Yes that is part of the fun, when you get rolled over by a big one!!
It seems that they enjoyed riding the waves indeed! I loved doing this when I was a child, too! ;)
My kids love it and I still love doing it.
Yes, that's really great adventure! ;)
Beautifull dear @rynow

Wow, fantastic @rynow, although I have never tried, and have not felt at all how surfing, but I am sure he will be able to pass it easily, because I see from his style that he is very experienced
Surfing looks fun... I hope you have a WONDERFUL day. Following you.
Thank you @pjcswart
Timing is key, if you are too early, nothing happens, too late, the wave goes through you, just right and you end up on the beach.
The kids just love to play in the waves, at that stage my son in the picture was 13 years old.
Awesome dear friend :)
Thank you @saqib
Great photo @rynow and I hope one day to visit your beautiful country. I've heard a lot of great stories about SA. :-D
It is a great country, you must definitely visit one day.
It's on the bucket list @rynow, unless I kick the 'bucket', I'm there at some point on journey. ;-D

I Agree, so much fun.
Yes, even now that I am over 50, I still love to do it, that is my son in the wave
Its hard to say, but looks fun anyway.... LOL. Where in SA are you from, I live in Pretoria! I hope you have a WONDERFUL day. Following you.
Hi pjcswart, I am also from Pretoria, in Moreleta Park, from where are you?
Colbyn, near Hatfield. What do you do?

You are right!!
that is a awesome experience once you were in the beach. I lived in down south in Sri lanka very close to the coastal line, and every day i feel and smell the beach culture. it is always outstanding experience once you are in the beach. nice one @rynow
Yes it is fantastic, I stay far from the beach, but love to go there on vacation.
This is fantastic and I love its ingenuity.
Thank you very much @machhour
