Beach Wednesday enjoying a summers days at the beach
Still trying to ignore winter so digging into my archives for shots I haven't shared before and came across these shots of people enjoying a summer evening at Gulf Beach for BeachWednesday - led by @lizanomadsoul and initiated by @uwelang

This was on a visit to the beach back in the summer last year, I went early for a walk on the beach prior to the sun setting, but got a few shots of people enjoying the beach, it wasn't too crowded this evening sometimes well often on weekends there is a lot more people here.

And another shot from the same evening Looking away from the pier and along the beach with a few more people settles in to their beach chairs and enjoying time by the water.
As it happened I am glad I decided to get these shots, there really wasn't much color in the sunset that evening.

And a last shot as I was walking back to the pier, you can see as well as a few relaxing on the beach there was also a few fishing from the pier, just about every evening in the warmer months you will see people fishing here, not so much at this time of year.

I hate winter so much. Philly obviously has similar weather as NY. Last January was even worse. I'd love to go to a warm beach, but I can't.
Ohh yes as I get older each year I hate winter less, I am now at the stage of despising it LOL,
I to would love to go to a warm beach but that is a long way away LOL
Summer dreaming... I like the color on pier in that shot. I thought it was light but looks like the pier is actually lighter colored above the water line

So surreal Jay. I think the magical unreal/superreal quality is enhanced by the strange (for me) way that everyone is sitting in chairs. Like watching a sky movie or waiting for a meteorite to shoot across the sky. LOVE it. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
I have noticed chairs are quite popular on the beach here, maybe because it isnt as sandy as some of the other beaches in the area, I seldom sit in a chair myself I am too hyper and prefer walking back and forth along the beach
Guess it's not as pleasant sitting on a less than beautiful sandy beach. Or maybe there are sand flies in the sand?
As a teen, I could lie out in the sun for hours at the beach and just bliss out. Not that I think I'm hyper, but I much prefer walking along the beach and up all around the cliffs now. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
Yes there are also lots of bugs at this beach some days
I have never been a sit at the beach person not even as a kid

We are almost having a heatwave today going up to mid 50s after the frigid temps earlier in the week it feels so nice

Nice shots. I actually would have expected more people to be on the beach as nice of a day as it looked. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw the ocean. I probably would have just been a kid.
I think this was near the end of summer and it was comfortable but not really that warm hence not so many there, plus it also being a weekday evening was a factor.
I grew up fairly close to the ocean, used to bike to the beach most mornings and go for a run and swim training for Rugby, then for years I was in Missions no where near the Ocean thats part of why I choose to live here and have the long commute to be by the water

Beach is always a great place to find peace of mind, especially in the cold months of winter to cast your mind back to the warmth of summer @tattoodjay
Ohh yes thats for sure, I normally still visit the beach at least once a week even in Winter, but so far this year it just hasn’t come to be
Thoroughly enjoy going down to the beach after rain, sand is firmer normally sea is more tranquil unless a storm has passed through.
Winter is the best time for the beach down here, you don't have to be off the sand before 10am, in summer you do.
Ohh yes that is the best time for sure, and also here one of the beaches gets lots of bugs but just after the rain they are not about so thats another plus of going to that particular beach after rain

How's that workin' for ya? (I ask, as I sit here wrapped in a blanket because we can't seem to get the house warm today. About the only time I'm warm any more is under the covers at night with a radiant Weasel heating the bed beside me. It's enough to make me just want to stay in bed all day. Srsly.)

When I get home at night i find our place feeling toasty initially and my Wife is saying the same as you, an hour or so later I do tend to agree with her :)
Considering the snow outside my place right now, this looks gorgeous :D
I wish the beach was like this right now, all I see out the window is heavily falling rain at the moment, but at least even if only for one day its relative warm for this time of year here

Howdy there JJ! "trying to ignore winter" lol...has it been bad up there this time? Did you guys get hit by the storms a few days ago? These are wonderful summer pictures!
Compared to other areas I should not complain of course, but yes we did get hit by the cold front at the beginning of the week with a couple of days where the temp dropped to single digits and real feel hitting about -16, but it was only for a couple of days, still cool but not frigid at the moment so it could be worse so I am trying to be positive ;)
howdy again JJ, wow...I don't miss living in the North at all in the winter time. Did you still walk around the city taking pictures when it was that cold? brrrrr, that place has to be like a wind tunnel!
I have to admit I used to go on photowalks even in the worst of Winter, but the last couple of years I have slowed down, infact I havent taken any photowalks in the city this year yet, but I hope to soon, or I will run out of archives to use for posts LOL
Oh I can see that it would be brutal conditions with those bitter cold winds blowing down the sreets, hopefully there will be interesting sights close to your office and maybe Spring will come early this year but that might just be wishful thinking.
I keep hoping for an early spring but my Gut tells me Winter has yet to give its worse, but lets hope I am wrong
