Building Blocks Building Relationship

in #beautifulsunday7 years ago

This is my share for #BeautifulSunday initiated by @ace108

Earlier today I was playing Monster Hunter: World in PS4 console. I was not able to play for a couple of days because I chose to rest on my days off. I was in the middle of my hunt when my son knocked and asked, "Papa, are you going to sleep after playing Monster Hunter?"

The confused me asked "Why?"

He said, "Can you help me build the blocks after you play?"

And I said, "Of course."

Why would I choose playing PS4 over bonding with my son? Look at how happy he was when we finished building the blocks...

So there it goes. I started from where he left. He was constructing the Firestation. I know building it would be easy because these are kids' toys. But the challenge started when I searched for the missing piece. Oh my!!! My back hurts since we built this from the floor. Good thing my cousin went up to our room to help. She segregated the blocks according to size and color.

And I am done. More to go...

I started to feel pain on the tip of my fingers specifically middle, index and thumb. I am starting to notice that the blocks does not fit perfectly. It's kinda tight. but it's better than loose right?

Next in line was the rescue truck. The process was smooth until I am in the middle of the construction. The instruction manual and the one in my hand does not match. There was a piece placed incorrectly. So I have to start all over again. Good thing I did not mix the blocks deconstructed from the half-firetruck to the rest of the blocks.

After the rescue truck, everything was easy and smooth. Of course, there are less loose pieces now than that when you start. And I already experience an error so I made sure that it would not happen again.

Now, the firetruck. This one's my favorite. Every step that I did shows improvement of the truck. The finish product was really nice.

I looked at the clock and I was shocked. I was doing this for 3 hours already! Not just the firetruck but all 3 of them. And I have 4 more to build.

The helicopter...

This one's my son's favorite. Probably because of the propeller. I did not like this one because it does not balance itself. The tail end falls down the floor. I asked my son to put something on the pilot seat in order to keep it standing.

The ambulance...

This one's cool because of the stretcher.

Nowadays parents are spending around 15 min daily with their kids. Thank you for setting the example that spending quality time with you family is the most valuable thing to do. Namaste.

I play with him a lot. We've been to the park and play frisbee. That's his new addiction. hehe

Fun time and good efficient help from your cousin. :-)

Yes. My cousin played a huge role on this one
