Purple Tree Skincare is a UK line of balms that can be used all over the body and face. There are 11 balms to pick from, which each having a different oil and scents. In Canada, Purple Tree Skincare is available on Farleyco for $6.99CAN for 25mL, along with some drugstores.
Purple Tree claims: "Shea Butter Miracle Balm uses natural, organic Shea Butter to moisturise and provide relief from dry, cracked and irritated lips and skin. Its multi-purpose formula can also be used to protect brittle nails and cuticles, and for cosmetic finishes such as taming eyebrows and elongating the appearance of eyelashes."
When I first used this, the texture was off putting. Its thick, and is similar to a stick lip balm. It takes awhile to rub in as hand and cuticle cream. As a lip balm, it felt moisturizing, but it did not last after the product was gone. It does tame eyebrow hairs okay, but it is not going to last all day.
Ingredients: Petrolatum, Cera Microcristallina, Paraffinum Liquidum, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Aroma, CI 77891, CI 19140, CI 45410
I'm not a fan of petrolatum and paraffinum liquidum in skincare and makeup products. Some studies say they are safe, while others studies found increase risk of break outs and cancer. Shea butter is low on the ingredient list. There are other multi-use balms on the market that have Shea butter and other oils/butters as the main ingredients, like Lush's Ultrabalm.
Is the Purple Tree Miracle Balm a miracle? I say no, there are better multi-use products with better ingredients. The size is great for just throwing in your purse. If you are in a pitch, this would work until you could find another moisture or hair/brow gel.
