From my understanding, a pimple is developed when a pore is clogged and bacteria infects the clog. Therefore one needs to unclog your pores to prevent and possibly bring down the swelling of the pimple/pus.
Instead of using a multitude of remedies, one can take a long hot shower and let the hot water open the pores on your face with accompanying gentle washing with soap. If you have a full developed pimple that is full of pus, In most cases the pus will come out on it's own from the hot water alone.
If a hot shower is not accessible at the time, a heat compress on the affected area will open your pores and remove any dirt. A facial cloth can be dipped in hot water, lightly squeezed out, will do just fine.
These procedures can be done daily. A nice hot shower and heat compress is part of my daily facial cleaning regiment. I hope this helps everyone.
